CHICAGO, IL, June 9, 2022 – The Little Village Community Foundation announced that it has changed its name to the Foundation of Little Village. The Foundation recently released its first annual report titled, “Foundation of Little Village: Delivering on Our Promise.” The report highlights the organization’s accomplishments, which include the creation of Little Village’s first-ever micro-granting program—a collaborative effort that disbursed over $745,000 in aid to local entrepreneurs. The Little Village Community Foundation and The Little Village Chamber of Commerce Transfer Ownership of The Xquina Incubator and Café

The Little Village Community Foundation (LVCF) and the Little Village Chamber of Commerce (LVCC) announced today the consolidation of ownership interests of the planned Xquina Incubator and Café. Effective immediately, the LVCF will become the sole owner and operator of the Xquina Incubator and Café in Little Village. Little Village Neighbors Unveil New Mural Honoring Mexican American Veteran Manuel Pérez Jr.

Little Village residents, elected officials and members from the American Legion Post 1017 unveiled a new mural on Veterans Day Thursday to honor the life of veteran Manuel Pérez Jr., who was killed in action during World War II.

La Fundación Comunitaria de La Villita anunció la presentación de un nuevo mural que honra al ganador de la medalla de honor del congreso PFC Manuel Perez Jr. Este mural nuevo estará ubicado en la plaza Manuel Pérez Jr Memorial que se encuentra ubicada en la 4345 W 26th St. Este es el único monumento en Illinois a los veteranos que lleva el nombre de un mexicano- americano.
