Fundación de La Villita

Formally called the Little Village Community Foundation, our organization was established in 2018 in response to the community’s need for culturally relevant support for our local small businesses. Through place-based and bilingual services, our efforts are focused in three primary areas: Build Community Wealth, Preserve Little Village Culture, & Revitalize the 26th Street Small Business Corridor.

Community Wealth Building

Focuses on business education, financial literacy training, one-on-one technical support, networking opportunities, and business financial resources such as in house micro-grants.

Efforts take into consideration the primarily Mexican American population who work and live in this community, honoring the charm and longstanding heritage of this neighborhood affectionately known as “La Villita.”

Corridor Revitalization

Aims to undertake beautification and restoration projects to enhance the famous 26th Street commercial corridor. Improving the vitality of this neighborhood directly impacts the quality of life for residents and appeals to tourists who will, in turn, generate more revenue for the businesses.
