About the Grant

Four of the leading philanthropic organizations, The Chicago Community Trust, The Coleman Foundation, JPMorgan Chase, and Robert R. McCormick Foundation, collaborated to create an innovative partnership grant. This new type of grant is designed to improve and expand access to capital, specialized business service consultations, and industry-specific support for businesses in Chicagoland owned by entrepreneurs of color.

Juntos Emprendemos

A 12-week cohort program designed for 10-12 students with a blended learning approach that includes subject matter experts and mentors. The program is heavily focused on providing tools and resources to build solid financial systems for businesses, thereby increasing the likelihood of obtaining bank loans.

Start-up Consultation

XD-Technology Industry serves the back-office needs of small to medium-sized businesses helping to implement standards processes and high-level accountability. XD-Tech helps to power the Wealth and Balance programming platform. This program supports emerging and experienced business owners with resources and practical techniques to balance their work and home life, while maximizing the impact on their bottom line. Helping to take a holistic approach to entrepreneurship. Wealth and Balance conducts individual workshops, as well as short and long-term training classes.

FoodHero, a social enterprise, offers

Food He.ro

Cocinas Agil program is a three-day food entrepreneurship training boot camp for existing or emerging food entrepreneurs to expand or start their businesses. FoodHe.ro hosts workshops discussing access to capital and licensing. They provide technical assistance, business consultation, and assistance with access to financial capital. They also provide individuals or businesses with a shared kitchen space for 1-3 months to test or pilot their concepts.
